Bluehouse Salmon is proud to be Heart-Check certified by the American Heart Association. For a product to receive the Heart-Check, it must meet specific and rigorous nutritional requirements. Bluehouse Salmon is full of the nutritional benefits we look for in a protein source.
Salmon can improve your heart health because it is low in cholesterol and high in Omega-3 fatty acids, which are necessary for artery function and your heart. Omega-3’s also play a key role in lowering inflammation, which is crucial for your heart health. Salmon contains a plethora of immune-boosting nutrients such as Vitamin D, and Vitamin B6. Both of these are critical in your immune system’s overall functionality.
The American Heart Association recommends that adults consume 2 servings of Omega 3 Fatty Acid-type fish every single week.
Bluehouse Salmon is raised with exceptional care in the U.S.A. and doesn’t have to be shipped by plane to its final destination. Our salmon is fresher and more packed with health benefits by the time it reaches your plate. Bluehouse Salmon is Fresh From Florida, which means it has a longer shelf life than imported salmon. Bluehouse Salmon can reach your grocery store in as little as 3-5 days, compared to imported salmon which can take a minimum of 7-9 days.
Omega-3 fatty acids are critical for human health and the health of our fish. Typically, wild salmon obtain omega-3 through the natural food chain. Marine algae, the original source of EPA & DHA, are eaten by zooplankton. In turn, these are consumed by the wild fish that salmon naturally eat. In 2021, we introduced a novel algae oil to replace 25% of the fish oil in our feed, bypassing the entire food chain to get omega-3s straight from nature’s own source.
Our vision is to remove all marine ingredients from our feed by 2025. We will soon be able to produce salmon with zero of the contaminants coming from the ocean through the food chain, such as mercury and microplastics, PCBs, or dioxins.
Bluehouse Salmon is ranked as the best choice by Seafood Watch, a global leader in the sustainable seafood movement. Their science backed seafood recommendations place Atlantic Salmon raised on land, as #1.
